    I have been attending a yoga class for some years but, when the gorgeous Karol offered pilates classes to any interested members of the Haslemere U3A, I eagerly signed up. I am thrilled that I did, as it has proved to be an extremely beneficial, popular and well attended class, which is a terrific endorsement of Karol`s gentle, thorough and expert teaching as, all too often, classes start off well attended, only for the attendees to become increasingly disenchanted with the teacher and, consequently, they rapidly leave. Which is certainly not the case where Karol`s classes are concerned as she is such a professional, enthusiastic and encouraging teacher who is constantly checking on each and every `pupil`s` posture.

    I love Karol’s classes. I started with separated stomach muscles after having two children in relatively quick succession. I felt fairly weak and stiff and generally lacking in energy. Karol’s classes have transformed me: my stomach muscles have recovered and my back is much more mobile. I also have much better body awareness and have much higher levels of energy and motivation generally. Karol is calm and patient, her explanations and demonstrations of how to do the exercises are very clear. The atmosphere in class is friendly and welcoming and the studio is a haven of peace and relaxation. I could not recommend Karol and her classes more highly. Kate Davenport

    I have now been to 6 of Karol’s classes and what a difference already!! When I joined I was terribly tired, lacked enthusasium for anything and was stiff and unfit. In that short space of time I have started to develop a much stronger and straighter posture, my stomach muscles are tightening beaufully and I always leave the class very calm and at peace with myself.
    Karol is extremely professional,patient and encouraging, her explanations and demonstrations of the exercises are easy to follow and because the classe’s are small Karol is able to check on all those participating.
    Karol came highly recommended to me and whow she is all of that quite brilliant I will certainly be recommending her!!

    After experiencing an extremely uncomfortable back for over a year, i came to Karol for an introduction to Pilates and some general advice on my pain. I had taken a course of Physio and massage, and been to see a string of Chiropractors, but the only pain relief I’d had up to this point was ibuprofen! From my very first lesson with Karole I felt huge relief – both physically and emotionally – finally i was given understandable, manageable advice! The classes instantly paid off and Karole was fantastic in giving me straight talking tips on how manage my back. Five months on and i am barely bothered by the pain, and swear by Karol’s classes! They have changed my day to day life around completely, and I cannot recommend them enough!

    She is so welcoming and the classes take place in beautiful peaceful surroundings
    Everything is provided and more
    Karol is very informative, professional and enthusiastic and always does something different every week
    I have already recommended her to several friends
    I am able to switch off for an hour and leave feeling very relaxed and good and raring to go

    We love doing pilates with Karol. The class takes place in a warm conservatory surrounded by her beautiful garden. You work at your own pace, as Karol gives a choice of different levels of the same exercise and advice on when to try the next level. She is calm with a super sense of humour making the classes enjoyable as well as useful. We love the scented candle and gentle music which create a relaxing and welcoming environment. Pilates is helping us both with core strength and general mobility.

    Having attended very busy classes in London I have been delighted to find Karol’s Haslemere classes which offer something for everyone.Her choice of levels in class stretch the more experienced and also cater for beginners.She is calm professional and positive in her manner and the classes are well organised and welcoming.I can definately feel my core muscles have developed and she has made me more aware of posture.
    I always leave the class refreshed and relaxed.

    I came to my first EVER pilates class on Monday 25th Feb 2013, and I loved it; Karol’s class was amazing – very professional, I felt very calm and relaxed in the class, she helps all the time and is careful that you are not over doing the excercises, as a 1st timer like me. I could not believe how I felt after and since the class, my lower back and hip have been so stiff, but since the class all the tightness I have had for months has defiently improved, cant wait for next week!!

    I just had my second baby and my physiotherapist suggested I start pilates to help with the muscle separation in my stomach. A friend recommended Karol. I went along to a class and I signed up immediately. Karol is a fantastic teacher and after each class I feel refreshed and energised and my core stability is so much stronger. I have recommended Karol to all my friends.

    I attend Karol’s pilates class on Monday mornings, it is a perfect way to start the week. I leave her class feeling energised and ready to face the challenges of the week ahead. It is the perfect compliment to a busy fitness regime or when you are just starting to get fit again. Karol tailors her teaching to each individuals needs, and its lovely to feel secure in the knowledge that the physiotherapist in her is going to make sure all your aches and pains are soothed by the end of the class.I also love the flexibility that I can attend other classes if my commitments change or, if I feel I need an extra session after the weekend excesses !!
    I would recommend Karol to everyone.

    I joined Karol’s class a few weeks ago. All I can say is wow! I have done pilates classes before but have never been stretched as much as this, I felt the benefit from the very first session. The classes are never boring because Karol uses so many different exercises. The most comforting thing is that Karol knows what she is doing! as a physiotherapist she makes sure that everyone in the class is gaining the maximum benefit from each exercise without strain or damage and works with each person to ensure that we reach our personal best. The other class members are lovely and the group was so easy to join, I felt at home straight away.

    I would recommend Karol’s pilates to anyone, whether you are a complete beginner or have done pilates all your life, come along, you will not regret it!

    I joined Karol’s class after been coerced by my wife and daughter. I agreed to go along once. To be honest I thought that would be the first and last attendance. I did think I would feel very out of place and probably the only male involved. However I have to confess to being completely won over! The class is great, everyone is so busy concentrating on the exercises that it really dosen’t matter if you are male , female, young or old. I have some shoulder damage and wondered how I would get on with doing some of the movements. karol works with each person individually and tailors the exercises to suit so there has not been a problem and my shoulder is feeling much easier already. I would definitely recommend the classes to anyone. Especially any men out there thinking this is a woman’s domain, it certainly isn’t and you will notice the difference to your joints and muscles very quickly.

    I have been going to Karol’s classes for several months and find them extremely enjoyable and very beneficial. I started because I wanted to be more flexible as I get older and to help with running. I can really feel the benefit in many ways. I think more about posture and find myself correcting the way I am standing or sitting throughout the day. Recently I have experienced some hip problems and Karol has incorporated specific exercises into her class to help with this. She is patient, good humoured and always smiling and encouraging throughout. No one is trying to impress anyone else and the atmosphere is relaxed and supportive. Karol watches and helps everyone as individuals and is very flexible (!) in terms of which classes you can attend and the level at which you complete the exercises. I would recommend her classes very highly.

    A fabulous class. Karol is hugely passionate and knowledgable and adapts all exercises for bad backs, shoulders etc giving tips to improve pain in joints and muscles. I am now very conscious about my body alignment and posture whether driving, sitting or standing and feel as if I have grown a few inches!!
    Other attendees are lovely, that combined with healthy nibbles and great coffee make for a perfect start to the week. Thanks.

    I joined Karol’s pilates classes a couple of months ago,she came highly recommended from a local chiropractor. As i have trouble with my neck and shoulders i was advised that pilates would help.
    I have noticed a difference in just seven classes,my neck and shoulders have alot more movement and my stomach is begining to feel alot tighter. I have also found i am alot more aware of my posture.
    Karol has a lovely way about her and her classes are good fun, she makes even a beginer like me relaxed and explaines the exercises when im unsure on what to do.
    I would recommend Karol to anyone who is thinking about taking up pilates.

    I am delighted that I found Karol’s pregnancy class. It is the best I have attended and Karol is an excellent teacher. The class is fun and gets results. I felt much better after only one class and the following day I noticed that my usual niggling pains had vanished. Highly recommended.

    I started Karol’s pilates classes after my Mum raved about her! I had been struggling to tone up around my stomach, and had spent 18 months using the gym, but it wasn’t really for me, and it wasn’t doing much for that area!
    What I love about Karols classes are they are small enough that every session you will get the individual attention to ensure you are using your body correctly. After 8 sessions I have started to notice a difference, and am so pleased to feel those stomach muscles after so long.
    Karol is just lovely, you’d be mad not to come to her classes because I dont think you’ll find better!

    I have tried several different pilates instructors over the years but none of them come close to Karol. She is a trained physio which makes all the difference. Every week I seem to have some grumble or other… usually caused by the sports I do (running, tennis in particular) and she can always recommend a stretch or exercise that I should be doing, and she often manages to incorporate my specific need into that week’s class in some way too. Karol is lovely…gentle and reassuring but with a great sense of humour as well. People take the classes seriously and Karol works hard to ensure that we are all doing the exercises correctly, but there is an underlying sense of fun which motivates people to come back week on week.

    Karol is a wonderful Pilates teacher. As a Physio she accommodates and assists with everyone’s injuries and limitations, lots of individual attention. Her classes are a joy of friendliness, fun, relaxation and effective toning work. Good results are felt and seen after a very few weeks. The surroundings are beautifully peaceful and calm.
    The system of flexibility of classes taken is a bonus for busy people.
    And then there is the coffee and banana bread….

    Karol @haslemerepilates is offers a really gresat pilates class within the Haslemere location. Local pilates followers were fortunate indeed Karol decided to put her extensive years of experience and natural gift of teaching Pilates to practical use and began a structured weekly schedule of classes to suit all levels of experience & aptitude. Her personal touch and true empathy to your weekly ‘body issue’ gives a great sense of security within the class. She really listens! The critical element to her classes are you always feel much better afterwards and feel recovered both body & soul for whatever is next in your day. Well done & thank you.

    Karol is a very well qualified to teach Pilates and indeed, has a natural talent for teaching. She is precise as well as sympathetic to the varied needs of each individual in her classes. Her mat work groups take a structured form, to which she applies good humour to effective toning and enables each individual within the class to work towards their own goal. We stand tall in every sense when we leave each week and are all the better, for a slice of homemade banana bread on our exit too. Well done you Karol and thank you.

    I love starting my day twice a week with Karol’s Pilates classes. I have attended eight classes in my first month of ever doing Pilates and the benefits are amazing for me. I went along concerned about my posture and with Karol’s excellent teaching I am already feeling the benefits of Pilates. The classes are held in a lovely bright, airy and warm room with excellent facilities and on entering you immediately feel very relaxed. Karol is highly professional in her teaching and her knowledge of ‘how the body works’ certainly educates each one of us. We all have our individual goals, however big or small, and Karol pushes us that little bit more to our benefit. Pilates really sinks in when I hear the words ‘zip up that tummy’ in my head whilst doing tasks at home! A big thank you to Karol.

    I’ve been going to Karol for pilates now for nearly 6 months and what started out as something to try has become a real hobby.
    Karol is a great teacher and each class is adaptable to every person in it regardless of experience and skill level.
    The improvement in muscle tone and strength is obvious so it’s nice to see your hard work paying off!
    If you’re not sure, try it- you won’t regret it and soon you won’t know how you got through the week without Karol or pilates!

    Beautiful surroundings – welcoming atmosphere.
    Karol’s well-planned lessons cater equally for new-comers & experienced participants, a variety of ages, fit & not so fit and both men & women. They vary week to week making them interesting – though still follow necessary basics. Students’ personal health-issues are taken into consideration during the sessions, adding a important aspect to the lessons.
    I have been coming to Karol’s classes for over a year now and am very much looking forward to coming again when the new term starts in September.

    I have been attending these classes for a year now and and really miss them if I can’t make my regular slot – fortunately Karol has other sessions so it’s usually possible to switch around as needed. The classes are all friendly and Karol is a great and encouraging instructor; every exercise is well explained and it’s amazing how quickly you see the improvement in what you can achieve as you progress on to the more advanced stages of the exercises. I feel more toned and in shape than I have for years.

    Following a back injury, I have been doing Pilates for about 2 years now and wouldn’t be without it. Karol’s classes are excellent and being a trained Physio she has such in-depth knowledge. Catering for all levels Karol explains everything really well. Relaxing surroundings and a great choice of days/times. A*!

    These classes are excellent, the standard of instruction is great, and the routines are varied and very thorough, ensuring all areas of the body are worked on. Karol is a great Pilates instructor, she explains things easily, and ensures that all levels of experience are catered for. The classes are relaxing and fun, and you see and feel improvement very quickly. I always look forward to attending these classes.

    Highlight of the week! Karols physio background gives you confidence to push yourself just a little bit more. She is an excellent teacher but lighthearted at the same time. I feel so much better …..in fact, it’s just a little bit addictive!!

    I have been attending Karol’s classes since early 2013, and I have to say that I have found them to be a great source of physical and cathartic support. I came to Karol because of an ongoing neck and shoulder problem, which for me, as a violinist can be painful and frustrating. Karol’s classes have helped me to think about posture and movement in a way which has supported my ongoing recovery,and has helped me to build core strength and regain my playing stamina. I had not done Pilates classes before, and I thoroughly enjoy them. Karol is kind, knowledgable and attentive to every individual’s needs. We are very lucky.

    I have been attending Karol’s pilates class since March 2013. Karol’s expertise as a physiotherapist means that she not only instructs and guides each person in pilates exercises, but she also explains muscle functions and the problems that tension and under or improper use can cause. It is so much easier to comply to an exercise regime if you understand why you are doing it! The difference it has made to my general fitness and wellbeing is truly amazing! I would never have thought that just one hour each week could have such a huge effect. To come home from a whole days Christmas shopping this year without the normal aching back and feeling generally exhausted was wonderful!

    Karol’s Pilates classes are fantastic. Each class is a small enough that Karol is able to give individual personal attention ensuring everybody keeps the right line and does the exercises correctly. The classes accommodate all levels and as a trained physio Karol is well aware of how to adapt any of the exercises to suit different levels or work around and rehabilitate any injuries.
    There is a great atmosphere in the classes creating both calm and energy and I always leave feeling refreshed. I have already recommended her to several people and will continue to do so.

    I started Pilates with Karol almost a year ago, I was completely new to it but Karol was very welcoming and the classes are cleverly designed to cater for complete beginners as well as those who have done Pilates longer so I never felt out of my depth in any way. Karol is an excellent and knowledgable teacher and I really like that she pays attention to us as individuals rather than just teaching a class so you can always be sure you are doing the right level for your ability and that you are doing everything correctly. I really look forward to my class every week and come away feeling calm and relaxed-I can’t recommend her classes enough they are fantastic!

    I’m really pleased I found Karol’s class. Karol is incredibly knowledgeable about the body and helps you exercise to suit your specific needs. She is very hands on so you know exactly if you are working correctly or hard enough. She is happy to answer questions and show you different ways of doing something to get the most out of her classes.     Karol’s classes are excellent. Her teaching method is professional, enthusiastic, encouraging and fun. Even in a full class Karol manages to add the personal touch by ensuring everyone’s positioning is correct and her explanations help you to understand the theory behind the exercises. I cannot recommend her classes high enough.

    This is my first experience of pilates, Karol has a great ability to make the class interesting and cater for all ages and abilities in the group I would recommend it to everyone. I find it a great way to start the weekend, leaving you feeling wide a wake and ready to face the weekend. It has also been of great benefit for my general health and wellbeing, giving me time to focus on yourself. Thank you Karol.

    I have now done 3 classes and thoroughly enjoy Karol’s teaching, the setting and how good i feel afterwards. Karol attends to each individual during the class and makes sure we are doing all of the exercises to our own capabilities – i really look forward the this class and am even doing 2 a week when I can – thank you Karol

    Karol taught me a brilliant exercise to stretch my piriformus muscle, whilst using the roller. Sitting on the roller with knees drawn up and feet on the floor, cross the R ankle over the L knee. With hands behind on the floor, gently roll backwards and forewords, leaning slightly to the right. This stretches the muscle beautifully, and has cured the pain in my buttock. Thanks, Karol!

    If you are interested in Pilates then I can highly recommend Karol House. Karol provides a perfect combination of a well equipped venue and an extremely friendly environment. I find that being taught by a professional in a purpose built homely venue provides a perfect combination for all whether a beginner or more experienced at Pilates. Karol is a true professional in Pilates and a qualified Physiotherapist that has a teaching technique that makes Pilates Fun to do, with all the benefits from regular exercise. You will not be disappointed if you join Karol.

    I started Pilates classes with a degree of trepidation, but Karol has made them so enjoyable as she is both knowledgeable and reassuring in her teaching methods. She has helped me to not only improve my core control and strength but thoroughly enjoy each and every class.

    With her physiotherapy background, along with her awareness of participant’s strengths and weakness, she provides individual attention with extra advice and support given for any ailments.

    Classes are friendly and fun with the necessary element of hard work. They take place in a light and bright dedicated space in a beautiful setting. I highly recommend Haslemere Pilates.

    What I really like is the flow of the classes. We start promptly, work continuously for an hour and I feel well stretched at the end. I work at my own level and there is always a class that I can get to even though I have a busy schedule. Karol’s professional but friendly approach in her welcoming studio ticks all the boxes for me.     I’ve been to many pilates classes but Karol’s are the best. She notices everything you do and corrects where necessary. Every muscle is tested and stretched. Every class has a different theme so we don’t get bored. Everyone can work at their own pace. Just excellent!

    I enjoy Karol’s classes and feel rejuvenated following them, feeling more positive, calm and focused, as well as better toned and aligned. There is no pressure in the class, no competition and all abilities are welcomed and our needs catered for.

    I started attending Karol’s classes three months after giving birth to my second child in two years. Although I had quite a bit of pilates experience my stomach and back were obviously in a pretty delicate state! Three months on and the difference is really significant. Karol’s classes are great for all levels and her background means that you feel you are in very good hands for your individual needs. Importantly her classes are really relaxed, good fun and a welcome break from the world!

    I had never been to Pilates until i went to a class of Karol`s, loved it, and still do.
    What a way to start the week , The class takes place in beautiful, peacefull surroundings.
    Karol is very professional and is always checking on your posture to see if you are getting the best from the excercise, .Karol is always happy to offer any extra advice if you have any painfull joints, bad backs etc, always willing to help. i have and still will recommend karol to everyone.

    Karol’s classes are absolutely amazing. I’ve been going for about 6 months now and the difference in my figure and stomach strength is unbelievable. I’m a relative beginner but Karol will always spend time ensuring I’ve got the movements correct and the classes are very inclusive. I’ve already recommended Karol’s classes to 3 of my friends and am trying to get my husband along too. I love my hour of pilates each week, it’s an oasis of calm compared to my hectic life AND it’s so good for me!

    Joining Karol’s Pilates class was the most successful and best
    new year resolution that I have ever made! I had an initial one to one assessment which was very interesting and hi lighter my weaknesses, Karol’s knowledge, encouragement and great teaching has been so helpful when in class and through day to day life. As a horse rider it is so important to have core strength and balance and my riding and posture has greatly improved.

    I have been coming to Karol’s classes for about 8 months, and I have thoroughly enjoyed them. Karol is highly professional and extremely engaging, which adds to the experience. I feel a lot fitter and more toned, and find that I carry much less stress in my neck and shoulders. The classes are well planned and varied, and I walk out after an hour feeling taller than when I walked in!

    I have been attending Karol’s classes since the start of 2014 and I really enjoy them. Karol makes everyone feel very relaxed and comfortable and she keeps the classes small, so that each person gets enough of her attention. The setting is lovely too, so although you work hard in the class, it doesn’t feel like a chore going there. The classes have really helped to strengthen my core and improve issues I was having with lower back pain.

    Karol’s classes are fantastic, really dynamic and packed full of great exercises. Karol’s friendly and hands on approach is brilliant as everyone gets her full attention and knowledge on our problem areas. My back is so much better after going to her classes and I’ve had a few one-on-one sessions with her which have really helped my knees and elbows too.

    Karol is a great teacher who works us hard as a group and still takes time during classes to offer individual encouragement. I joined the class a couple of months ago to improve my posture and core stability and can definitely feel the difference. Karol’s class is also a fantastic way to wind down and relax after a hard week at work and the perfect start to the weekend. Don’t know how I survived without it! Thanks Karol 🙂

    After not attending any pilates classes for a number of years due to the fact that
    I couldn’t find a very good teacher locally, I was recommended to go Karol’s classes,
    I have been attending classes for 3 months and am really pleased with how much
    better I feel. The stretching and core work has improved my posture, helped
    with tension and my general feeling of wellness. Karol is a very experienced teacher and works hard to ensure everyone in the class has a good position and technique, the
    classes are a good size and offer both hard work and relaxation. I only wish I could
    attend a class everyday!

    I really look forward to Karol’s classes after a long week at work – they’re very enjoyable and relaxing too. Karol is an excellent teacher, looking after everybody in the class and she remembers everybody’s individual needs and problems. I’ve been going for a while now and I think Pilates has done me the world of good. I wish I could go every day too!

    You would think getting out of bed on a Saturday morning for a 9.30am class would be arduous to say the least, but I’ve been doing just that for over a year, just to get my weekly fix from Karol. The classes are always varied, but not too much that you never learn the basics; cater for all levels so don’t feel intimidated about giving it a try and Karol’s guidance in her sweet irish lilt makes even the newest member feel like they’ve been doing it for years. If you want just a little bit of ‘me-time’ to yourself, then this is where you need to be.

    Even the surroundings are beautiful…every element adds to that gorgeous feeling of pampered spa-like indulgence. Karol welcomes us into her fabulous home, offering an amazing selections of drinks and healthy goodies, then treats us to an hour of intensive exercise where we all leave with a healthy glow and empowered to take on the world – but hey, don’t take my word for it, try it yourself.

    Thanks Karol for making my week that little bit sunnier.

    I only recently discovered the Haslemere Pilates group but am so pleased that I have. I started pilates a couple of years ago in another area but find that both Karol and her pleasant venue are just perfect, together with calming background music which is an added luxury.

    Not only benefits your health but great fun. I intitially joined to improve my core strength for horse riding. I didnt expect to enjoy the class as much as I do and the physical benefits are already showing after a short time.

    My teenage son and I have been attending Karols’ classes for about a year.We have developed greater mobility and flexibility .Karol is extremely knowledgeable and gives personal attention to everyone and is happy to advise after the class.
    Each week there are different challenges and I value the time to just focus on myself and my body.The hour passes very quickly. I now have less back pain and my core strength has improved dramatically.

    A Pilates class taught by a physio means you know you are in safe hands. Nothing is too much trouble for Karol. Always there to correct you preventing any injury. Not to meantion fab surroundings, a sometimes special treat of banana cake to die for, oh and did I mention the exercises. Any excerise class that I can do lying down which tones my body as much as it has,
    has got to be worth a try!! Bless you Karol you are a gem!

    I started with Karol several weeks ago on a one-to-one basis.. I arrived fairly bent over and unable to hold myself up, either standing or walking, due to problems following a major op a year previously. I thought there was nothing to be done but then somebody suggested Pilates and I found Karol via Google. I then read all the Testimonials and felt that at last I had found my saviour! And I was right. After only one lesson, I was already feeling stronger, and after 5 lessons I can now walk tall. Admittedly, not for long at this stage, but I am convinced Karol will get me there, and then I will continue Pilates in a class.

    Karol’s classes are fantastic! Not only does she make us work hard but each week the exercises are different and varied so that Pilates is never boring or tedious and she manages to cope with the varying abilities and ages so that we all f eel we are improving and thus we all look forward to the next class. I would recommend her for everyone.

    Karal is a really excellent teacher of Pilates. As someone who has attended her classes for the last few months and benefitted enourmously from her expertise I know just how much difference she can make to people’s quality of life. She is passionate and very enthusiastic about her subject and like most talented teachers, her enthusiasm is very catching. We all want to try harder and improve, which is exactly what happens. She comes highly recommended.

    I’ve been attending Karols morning session for a few months now. Karol offers a great mix of support and challenge – she takes time to ensure every person is getting the stretches right. She offers a great balance of humour and professionalism. Karol really knows her stuff! You work hard at each session but feel great afterwards.
